A Little About Myself.

Rikard is a freelance bass guitarist, guitarist and teacher currently based in Hertfordshire. He is a member of the Musicians' Union (MU) and has an Enhanced DBS Check.

Hailing from Sweden, Rikard took the life changing decision to move to London to pursue a career in music. He enrolled at Tech Music school (now BIMM London) in 2013, under the tutelage of professional bass players such as Andrew McKinney (James Taylor Quartet), Rob Statham (Mike Stern, Jim Mullen, Keith Emerson), Dave Troke (The Overtones, The Noisettes, Donna Summer) and Svetlana Vassileva (The Vegastones, Glenn Tilbrook, Moby). During this time, he also performed in masterclasses with artists such as Peredur ap Gwynedd (Pendulum), and Ed Soph (Bill Evans, Glenn Miller Orchestra).

Since graduating in 2016, Rikard has worked in musical theatre, played with function bands and with original bands/artists, and played at festivals both in Sweden and in England. His playing has taken him to Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Oman, The Maldives, to name but a few!

Since 2015, Rikard has been keeping the low end pumping in Fully Funktional - a top UK function band who play throughout the UK and internationally for high-profile exclusive events and venues such as Royal Ascot, Grosvenor House, Wembley Stadium, Chandlers Cross and Sheraton hotel.

With that under his belt, Rikard is ready and able to play in any genre, and bust out dance moves while performing for hundreds of people around the world.

Rikard is a fantastic guitar teacher. My son has loved learning with him: he tailors the lesson to suit my son and keeps him engaged and motivated. His methods are modern and lively and he really understands what a 12 year old boy needs in order to make progress and enjoy learning.

Playing guitar or bass is a fun and wonderful; either just by yourself, playing along to your favourite songs and artists or writing your own songs, or playing together with others, joining forces and making some awesome memories. But sometimes it can be a bit difficult to know where to start or where to go and it can feel confusing when not knowing which youtube video out of thousands to choose between.

Thats where I come in.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an accomplished player looking to brush up on your skills, having the right teacher will prove invaluable to your goals. I will tailor your lessons to match what goals you have, what music you listen to and your current ability to suit you. In my lessons, we will work on technique, theory, songwriting while exploring music that you might never thought of listening to. All this while working on develop your own unique style of playing and sound.

I do online lessons (Skype, zoom, facetime) or, if you prefer face-to-face, I can come to you. And you can choose to either have a 30 min, 45 min or 1 hour long lessons, depending on your preference.
